Quick Review: The Konjac Sponge

It is finally that time of the year where finals are done and I’m at home going through all my new Asian Beauty Products. My first review of my winter break is on the most important tool I have in my beauty routine. If you already have one of these, you know how drastically they can change your skin. If you don’t, you will want to get one immediately after this review.

This tool I am speaking of so highly is the Konjac Sponge.

This baby is the amazing Konjac sponge. Yeah, so this thing looks like a lump of coal and feels like one too before it is wet. At first, I was sceptical about this “amazing” sponge that had changed so many people’s faces. But let me tell you. You need this in your life. I use this in conjunction with my cleanser which at the moment is Perfect Whip Foam (which I will be doing a review for in the near future)  Let me just give you a preview on what it did to my skin.

1. I used to have these weird bumps around my cheeks. Those are gone.
2. I get cysts sometimes around my time of the month. They don’t last nearly as long.
3. My makeup goes on so smooth. Like ridiculously smooth.

This is probably not all it has done for my skin but these are just the ones I can see on the surface. I don’t remember what specific brand I have, but a ton of Korean brands have them. As long as you take care of the sponge, it should last you quite a bit. You will need to replace it, but that goes for any type of beauty tool.

Needless to say, this tool is a 10/10 for me and if you don’t already have it, I highly recommend you picking it up.

Product Review: Etude House Color My Brows

School just started up so I have been busy getting in the groove of waking up super early and walking a million miles from my car to my classes. While I was ordering my books I pick up some products to get free shipping. Among the things I got (I will be doing reviews on all the products I got in the coming weeks) I picked up a brow mascara. I love having amazing looking brows that scream “I have time to look pretty”! Sometimes though, I don’t have time to sculpt my brows or I want my filled in brows to not move.

So while I was browsing Jolse’s shop on amazon, I spotted the Etude House Color My Brows and I fell in love.

I got the darkest color Rich Brown because my natural hair is black and my eyebrows are pretty dark themselves. At first when I got my package I was a little freaked out. The brow mascara was in a pretty light brow color and I was convinced it was the wrong one but as soon as I put it in my brows I was shown the light. This brow mascara is a beautiful natural color for my brows. The wand is small though not too small. It is small enough to not smear product all over my face but big enough to get the job done quickly. Not only does this product excel in color and application, it also has amazing stay power and makes my brows STAY! I have sweated all my makeup off but this stays put. It makes the brows a bit crispy to the touch but nothing too bad. I am so amazed at how well it really looks. I wear this alone or combined with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade in Ebony. Both ways look great and I have got numerous compliments on my brows when wearing this product. They have an amazing range of colors catering to every brow/hair color. I like that the formula is not INTENSELY pigmented. It brings color to the brows but doesn’t make them looks like you took a sharpie to your brows.

Final Remarks: If you love to have amazing brows, try this out. It is cheap and looks amazing on the brows. If you are busy, on the go, or just lazy about doing your brows, you need this .

3B: Beauty Beyond Borders Review

So recently I was on the hunt for a Birchbox or Ipsy like service for Asian products. I stumbled upon the 3B sample box. I was instantly intrigued. It is a new box that only launched a couple of months ago. I signed up and was off the waiting list before I knew it.

The box has a price similar to Ipsy and Birchbox with its price point hitting at only $12 USD. The box comes with four to five deluxes beauty samples in every box. Even though the samples are few, deluxe means that there will be none of those foil packets that all of us hate getting in sample boxes. When I received my box, I was relieved to see how well it was packaged. When something is coming from a sample service, I am always nervous that something will go wrong and something inside will be broken. Everything was beautiful when I opened the box. The packaging is simple and chic, no hassle of tissue paper and a cute cinch bag to re use. I was amazed to see that all but one product was full sized!

SkinFood False Lashes:

These false lashes are great for everyday because they are not too long and voluminous. They are made to work with shorter Asian lashes and this makes applying these a charm. I liked getting lashes in boxes like these because of the fact that I never know what lashes look good on my eyes.

TonyMoly Tangerine Whitening Hand Cream:

This handcream is the bees knees. It smells heavenly and doesn’t have that lotion greasy feeling on the hands. My boyfriend wants to eat my hands when I wear this.

TonyMoly Lovely Eyebrow Pencil:

Okay I admit it I have a love affair with Tony Moly. Even though there are two products of the same brand in the box, I really don’t mind one bit. This brow pencil really reminds me of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz but with a softer brush head. The color is a bit too light for my black hair and black brows but it works well in the front of my brows. I would love to get this pencil in a darker shade.

Etude House Baking Powder BB Deep Cleansing Foam:

This exfoliating scrub is different than anything I have ever tried. I adore Korean face wash and this is no different. I love using this when my skin needs a good scrub which is about once a week. This small size will last me for a while. I love that this is the only deluxe sized sample in the box. All the others were full sized.

Overall Thoughts:

This box is well worth the money. The product value adds up to about 20 or so dollars which means the box is paid for and more. I am really looking forward to receiving more boxes and really seeing where this box goes.

1. Too Cool for School: Dinoplatz Cinema City [Full Sized $30]

The packaging of this product is soo cute! I love the dino theme! I cannot believe that this little tube of CC Cream is 30 bucks! It is a good match for my skin and it feels great but the price is a little too crazy. There is a pretty strong scent to the product so if you don’t like strong scented things don’t go for this.

2. Shara Shara: Natural Shining BB SPF++ [Full Sized $16]

I cannot say enough good things. This makes my skin look so glowy. I am in love with the finish of this BB Cream. There is not a strong scent to it at all. This is a pretty big tube for the price and I am happy with the amount of product for the price.

3. TheYeon: Jeju Hallabong Energy Pack x 4 [Full Sized $6]

These are so cute! The texture is really strange on these masks. The texture remind me of chunky grape jelly. I have used one so far and it made my skin super soft. This are going to hydrate my skin after a long finals week.

4. Shara Shara: Only You Necklace Lip Balm No.1 Juicy Peach [Full Sized $34]

This is too cute for words. This is not something I would usually wear as a necklace but it would girly up any outfit I choose to wear it with. The actual lip product is pretty moisturizing and feels good on the lips. I don’t know if I would pay 34 bucks just for a necklace with lip balm in it though.

5. Shara Shara: Acerola Moist Oil Balm [Full Sized $17]

Another Shara Shara product! This brand has the cutest products! There is no scent at all that I can detect. The balm itself is very moisturizing and feels good on my elbows which are very dry in the winter. The tin is super durable and is perfect for just throwing in your purse or backpack. This is going to be a staple for my backpack.

6. Etude House: My Castle Hand Cream [Full Sized $7]

I knew there was going to be Etude House in here. This is probably my favorite of the products. I got mine in sweet cookie and the scent is to die for. The product packaging is so cute. I want to have them all! The hand cream is very rich and moisturizing.

Overall Thoughts

This box was pretty cute. I loved everything in there but I did feel that somethings were pricey for such little things. The CC cream especially is only 10ml and for the price points of thirty bucks it just doesn’t feel worth it. The cuteness of the box made my finals week bearable. I would love Memebox to do a lovely boutique #2.

1. Tonymoly 7 Days Tattoo Eyebrow 02 Dark Brown [Full Sized $8]

This stuff is good but it doesn’t really last seven days on me. It is a beautiful color that matches my hair perfectly. It makes my brows look very natural and hair like. The tip is quite flexible and fluid. This product is kinda meh for me but I do like the color. It just makes promises it doesn’t keep.

2. Style Y Color Fit Creamy Lip & Cheek 02 Smoothie Pink [Full Sized $13]

I like this product but only for my cheeks. It gives such a natural flush to my cheeks and makes a nice glow. On my lips it feels a bit dry and flaky. The smell is quite pleasant and not bothering to the nose. I enjoy this product and I don’t see myself running out of it soon.

3. Vella Flower Flower B.B [Full Sized $26]

Holy Coverage Batman! This is one of the best BB creams I have ever tried! I am in love with the feel on my skin! I cannot rave about this enough. It matches my NC 15 skin perfectly and gives me a nice glow. I use it with one of the last products I’ll talk about to give me a beautiful base.

4. Color World Jewelish Stick Shadow 07 Starship Violet [Full Sized $13]

This is a fun product! It has a great texture that glides on the lids. I would have rather have gotten the green shade though. The purple is lost on my blue eyes. This is an easy product to use when you are in a hurry.

5. Style Y Soft Fit Mix & Match Pencil and Powder Shadow 02 Borwn Liner & Peach Tip [Full Sized $9]

I love this product but I do not like the shadow side applicator. The shades are beautiful and they are an easy go to product when I am in a rush. The sponge tip applicator hurts the soft skin near my tear ducts. The shades are very complementary to my coloring and eye shades so I see myself using this up fast.

6. Secret Kiss Face Fit Strobe Cream [Full Sized $11]

This is my absolute favortie product in this box. This is a stop on dupe for MAC’s Strobe cream. The price point is amazing and the product is amazing. I use this daily with the BB cream that I also received. I have never gotten so many compliments on my skin. I am in love with this product! I will purchase this over and over and over again!

Overall Thoughts:

For one things, all the products were full sized which is amazing. All these products I can see myself using every single day. This is the first makeup centered box I have gotten. Lets just say I’m hooked!

Review: Epielle Facial Essence Mask

Now that we have that excitement out of the way, lets get into this review!

This is something my mom picked up for me at Big Lots. She knows I have an obsession with sheet masks, especially ones from Korea. These are indeed made from Korea, from a company called Epielle. I did a little research and discovered that they are known as a cheap brand but of course cheap does not mean low quality. These masks feel quite good to the touch. The mask itself is not rough at all which is great! They are loaded with moisture which is something I look for in a good mask. I’ve had more expensive masks dry out because they were not loaded with the essence. These masks are not revolutionary. They did not make my skin perfect but they did do their job. My skin felt hydrated and moisturized. The scent is pleasant and very relaxing. These are not going to change your skin greatly but for 2 bucks for 4 masks they are amazing for those nights where you want to wind down and relax. I would recommend them for anyone that wants an inexpensive mask to throw on after a hard day of work or school. Have you ever tried these before? If you have let me know what you think of them!

Rave: Eon Wheat Germ 97 Essence

I need to take a minute to rave about a product I received around two months ago. I’ve been testing this quite essentially to be able to give an accurate review. I received this product in the MemeBox Brightening Skincare Box . I fell in love at first sight. And now to introduce the star of this review.

Eon Wheat Germ 97 Essence

I have use this since day one. I have been monitoring my skin’s condition and I am so pleased with the results. This essence is all about whitening and brightening! I use this morning and night, basically whenever I wash my face. I have normal and sometimes a bit dry skin and this keeps my skin moisturized without being too greasy. It is quite light but in a good way. It has gradually gotten rid of some dark spots I have on my skin from acne. The price point at $36.00 may seem pricey but this product will last you a long time. I had only gone through maybe 1/4th of the bottle until my kitty decided to knock it over spilling another 1/4th of the bottle. Still I can see this lasting a person 6 months or more. This is a great gentle essence that would work for any skin type. I’m in love with this essence plain and simple!
